Backend Search Terms

Brand-registered only. Headline shown at the top of a Standard A+ module.

How to use

  1. Pick Standard or Brand Registered. Standard accounts list 5 bullets per ASIN; Brand Registered accounts can list up to 10 in many categories.
  2. Paste or type the Product Title, Brand, Manufacturer, and Model Number into the Product Identity group. The title preview shows the cutoff for mobile and desktop search rows.
  3. Fill each bullet under Key Product Features. Lead with an uppercase benefit phrase, then explain. Amazon strips line breaks inside a bullet, so write a single sentence or two.
  4. Paste the Product Description as plain text. The preview shows the Read more cutoff on the product detail page for the selected device.
  5. Paste your backend Search Terms into the single field. Amazon counts this field in UTF-8 bytes, not characters; the byte counter and diagnostics flag duplicates, commas, and double spaces.
  6. If you have Brand Registry, fill the A+ headline, A+ body, Brand Story headline, and Brand Story body to verify the limits before publishing the modules.
  7. Use Copy report to capture every field count, status, and bullet length as a single text report you can paste into a brief, a ticket, or a content QA checklist.

About this tool

Amazon Listing Character Counter brings every Seller Central character limit into one screen so you can write, paste, and tighten an entire Amazon listing in the browser. Compose the Product Title (200 characters in most categories, with truncation previews for both mobile and desktop search rows), 5 standard bullets or up to 10 brand-registered bullets (500 characters each), the Product Description (2,000 plain-text characters), the Brand and Manufacturer (50 each), Model Number (40), and the two A+ content groups: Standard module headline (100) and body (500), plus Brand Story headline (53) and body (250). The backend Search Terms field is the only listing field Amazon counts in UTF-8 bytes instead of characters, so this tool counts it in bytes using TextEncoder (250 bytes total) and flags duplicate words, commas, and stray double spaces that waste your byte budget. Every field shows a live progress bar with three states: green when there is headroom, amber when you are within the warning band, and red when you are over the published limit. The right side renders an Amazon-styled mobile or desktop search result row and product detail page so you can see exactly where the title is clipped, where the description collapses behind a Read more link, and how the bullets look as a clean list under About this item. Grapheme-cluster counting via Intl.Segmenter makes flag emoji, surrogate-pair pictographs, and accented letters count the same way Seller Central counts them. Switch between Standard and Brand Registered modes to expand the bullet block from 5 to 10. Nothing is uploaded; every count runs locally so unreleased listings, internal SKUs, A+ copy decks, and competitor research stay on your device. Useful for new ASIN launches, listing audits, A/B testing title rewrites, translating localized listings into each marketplace, planning A+ modules before they hit Brand Registry, sanity-checking exports from inventory tools, and rescuing a listing that is being silently truncated in Search.
