How to use

1. 1Pick a split mode: Even (same per person), Itemized (assign each item to who ordered it), or Shares (proportional weights).
2. 2For Even split, type the bill subtotal and how many people are at the table. For Itemized, add line items and tap the people who shared each one. For Shares, type each person's name and their share count.
3. 3Add tax: enter a percentage like 8.875 or a flat amount from the bottom of the receipt.
4. 4Add tip: pick a quick chip (15, 18, 20%) or type any percentage or a flat amount. Choose whether the tip is calculated on the pre-tax subtotal or the post-tax total.
5. 5Optionally round each share up to the nearest dollar or half-dollar so the answer fits whole-bill payment apps.
6. 6Read the per-person breakdown, tap Copy beside any amount, or use Copy summary to grab the whole group block for a text message.

About this tool

Bill Splitter answers the after-dinner question every group has: who owes what. Pick how you want to divide the bill. Even split divides the grand total equally among any number of people, the right choice when everyone shared the table. Itemized split lets you add each line item from the receipt and tap to assign it to one or more people, the right choice when one person had the fancy entree, two people split the wine, and one person only had dessert. Share-weighted split lets you give each person a different proportional share, the right choice when one person had a big appetizer flight or covered the kids' meals. The math is the same in every mode: each person owes their share of the subtotal plus their share of the tax plus their share of the tip. Tax can be entered as a percentage or a fixed amount on the receipt. Tip can be a percentage of the pre-tax subtotal (the US convention), of the post-tax total (the rule some guides recommend), or a fixed dollar amount. A separate rounding rule rounds each person's share up to the nearest dollar or half dollar so the math fits cash or whole-dollar payment apps; the difference is shown so you know exactly how much extra tip the rounding added. Every cent of subtotal, tax, and tip is divided in integer minor units (cents, pence, paise, kuruş) so the per-person amounts sum exactly to the grand total with no floating-point drift; the last person absorbs the rounding remainder so the total always reconciles. Currency switches between US dollar, Euro, British pound, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, Japanese yen, Indian rupee, and Turkish lira, with full Intl number formatting. Copy a person's individual amount with one tap, or copy the entire summary block to paste into a group chat. Useful for restaurant tables splitting the check, roommates settling utility bills, group trips reconciling shared expenses, work lunches with mixed orders, and any time a single payer needs to know exactly what to charge everyone else.
