Tip Calculator turns a restaurant bill into a clear total and a fair per-person split in your browser, with the controls real diners actually need: a tax field, a tip percent (quick buttons for 10, 15, 18, 20, 22, and 25 plus any custom value), a switch between calculating tip on the pre-tax subtotal (the traditional US default) or on the subtotal plus tax, an even split across 1 to 1000 people, an uneven 'by shares' split where each person can be set to 0 (skip), 0.5 (half a share), 1 (an even share), or any custom value (handy for the friend who only had a salad or the colleague who covers a child), and four rounding modes that match how groups actually settle a bill: no rounding (exact math), round the grand total up to the nearest cash unit, round each person's share up to the nearest cash unit, or round each person's share up to the nearest half cash unit. The result panel shows the subtotal, tax, the tip amount with a clear note on the basis used (subtotal versus subtotal plus tax), the final total to pay, the rounding delta when a rounding mode is on, and the effective tip percent (the actual tip paid as a percent of the subtotal, which can drift up when shares are rounded). The per-person table breaks each share into the underlying subtotal portion, the tax portion, and the tip portion, so anyone at the table can verify they are paying their fair part. A currency selector covers USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, INR, and TRY for display formatting only (the calculator never fetches FX rates and never calls a network), and a 'Copy summary' button gives a paste-ready three or four line block ready for a group chat or expense report. Useful for figuring out the right tip on a restaurant bill in any country, fairly splitting a shared dinner check, deciding how much each person owes when one person paid the whole tab, working out a 20% tip on the pre-tax amount and rounding the total up to the nearest dollar, calculating gratuity on a hotel folio, sizing a tip for a haircut or a delivery, or simply answering the question 'how much should I tip' for any service charge percent. Tipping etiquette varies widely by country and venue, so use the suggested tip values as a starting point, not as a global standard.
