Wordle Solver

Filter every five-letter word that matches your Wordle row. Enter greens, yellows, and grays, get ranked possible answers instantly in your browser.

Your last guess

Type the five letters of your most recent Wordle guess, then tap each tile to set its color from the puzzle.

Green = right letter, right spotYellow = right letter, wrong spotGray = not in the word

Extra clues

Letters from previous rows that turned out to be absent. Letters that also appear as green or yellow above are not forbidden, only capped at the number you already have.

Letters you know are in the answer somewhere but did not appear as green or yellow above (rare but useful for restarts).

How the colors work

Green

The letter is in the answer and at the exact position. The solver locks that letter to that slot.

Yellow

The letter is in the answer somewhere, but not at this position. The solver requires the letter to appear and forbids the slot.

Gray

The letter is not in the answer. If the same letter is also green or yellow elsewhere, gray caps the count instead of banning it, matching official Wordle scoring for repeated letters.

How to use

  1. Type the five letters of your latest Wordle guess into the tile row at the top. Each tile takes one letter.
  2. Tap a tile to cycle its color through Gray, Green, and Yellow until it matches the color the puzzle showed for that letter.
  3. Add any letters you have ruled out from earlier rows to the Additional gray letters field, and any letters you know must appear (without a position) to Must include letters.
  4. Read the matching words on the right. The top suggestion is the highest-coverage guess for narrowing the field; copy it or pick another that fits your strategy.
  5. Optionally tap Use custom wordlist and paste your own five-letter words to solve against a specific dictionary.
  6. Use Clear everything to reset all tiles and clue fields before your next puzzle.

About this tool

Wordle Solver helps you finish the puzzle by filtering a curated dictionary of common five-letter English words down to the ones that match every clue from your previous row. Type the five letters of your most recent guess into the tiles at the top, then tap each tile to cycle its color through Green (right letter, right spot), Yellow (right letter, wrong spot), and Gray (not in the word). The solver applies the official Wordle scoring rules, including the subtle duplicate-letter case: when you guess a repeated letter and one copy comes back gray while another comes back green or yellow, the gray does not forbid the letter entirely; it caps the count at exactly the number of green and yellow copies you saw. That is the rule Wordle itself uses, and it is the reason most simple word filters return zero matches on guesses like CELLO against an answer with one L. Two extra-clue fields let you carry information forward from earlier rows: Additional gray letters takes the letters you have ruled out across the whole puzzle (one big pool, not position-specific), and Must include letters lets you force a letter to appear somewhere in the answer without locking it to a position, which is useful when sharing hints with a friend or when restarting mid-puzzle. Matching words are ranked by how many of the most common letters across the remaining candidates each word covers, with duplicates ignored so guesses with five distinct letters always rank above guesses that repeat. The top suggestion is highlighted as the best next guess for narrowing the field. You can paste a custom five-letter wordlist (the official daily list, a tournament wordlist, or a themed puzzle list) to filter against your own corpus instead. Useful for daily Wordle players stuck on a tough row, fans of Quordle, Octordle, Hello Wordl, Lewdle, and other Wordle variants that share the same color-based scoring, ESL learners studying common English five-letter words, parents helping kids work through a guess, and anyone who wants a clean, focused solver without ads or signup. Your guesses, clues, and any custom list never leave the browser.
