Scrabble Word Score Finder

Score any Scrabble or Words With Friends word in your browser. Per-letter double and triple multipliers, blank tiles, bingo bonus, and batch list ranking.

Game

Picks the letter values, bingo bonus, and tile bag used by the score calculations on this page. Scrabble values match the TWL and SOWPODS tournament charts. Words With Friends values match the standard mobile game.

7/15 letters

Only letters A to Z count. Spaces, digits, and punctuation are ignored. The first 15 letters are scored.

Per-tile modifiers

Apply a double-letter or triple-letter square to a single tile, or mark a tile as a blank. Blanks score zero and ignore the letter multiplier on their square.

How to use

  1. Pick a game at the top: Scrabble (TWL and SOWPODS share the same letter chart) or Words With Friends.
  2. Type your word in the Word to score input. Only letters A to Z are counted; spaces, digits, and punctuation are ignored.
  3. For each tile, click 2L or 3L to apply a double-letter or triple-letter square, or check Blank tile to mark it as a blank (0 points, ignores letter multipliers).
  4. Set the Word square multiplier to 2x or 3x if the word covers a double-word or triple-word square. The bonus is applied after the per-letter sum.
  5. Leave Bingo bonus on to add the standard 50-point Scrabble bonus (or 35 in Words With Friends) when the play uses 7 tiles. Turn it off if you only want the raw board score.
  6. Read the Score breakdown panel for the base letters, word multiplier, bingo bonus, and final score. Copy the score with a single tap.
  7. Use the Batch scoring panel to rank a list of rack ideas: paste one word per line and the tool sorts them by score, with a total and a Copy table button.

About this tool

Scrabble Word Score Finder calculates the point value of any word using the canonical letter charts for Scrabble (TWL and SOWPODS, which share the 1-2-3-4-5-8-10 tile distribution that has been in print since 1948) and for Words With Friends (which raises B, C, F, H, M, P, V, Y, and a few other letters above their Scrabble values). Type a single word and the tool shows each tile, its base point value, and its contribution to the word total. Tap a tile to mark it as a double-letter or triple-letter square: the score reapplies instantly so you can see how a single bonus square changes a play. Check the blank box on a tile to mark it as a blank from the rack: blanks always score zero points and ignore the letter multiplier on the square they sit on, matching tournament rules. After the per-letter sum, pick a word multiplier (1x, 2x, or 3x) to model a double-word or triple-word square that the word covers. A bingo bonus toggle adds the standard +50 when the play uses all seven tiles in Scrabble, or +35 for a seven-tile play in Words With Friends. A batch panel scores a list of candidate words, one per line, on their base letter values and ranks them by score so you can compare rack ideas at a glance, with a total at the bottom and a one-click copy of the ranked table for sharing or pasting into a spreadsheet. A tile chart reference panel shows the point value and standard bag count for every letter in the chosen game (Scrabble's 100-tile bag with 2 blanks, or the 104-tile Words With Friends bag) so you do not need a second tab open while you plan a play. The tool scores any sequence of A to Z letters; it does not validate that a word is in any official dictionary, which keeps the scoring honest, fast, and offline. Everything runs locally in your browser, so the words you type here never leave your device.
