Image Rotator

Rotate and flip JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and GIF images in your browser. 90 degree steps, free angle slider, mirror, no upload, no signup.

How to use

  1. Drop an image onto the upload area or click to pick a PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, or GIF file (up to 25 MB).
  2. Use the Quick rotation buttons (90 right, 180, or 90 left) for lossless right-angle turns, or drag the Free angle slider and type a precise value for any other rotation.
  3. Toggle Flip horizontal to mirror the image, Flip vertical to turn it upside down, or both for a 180 degree mirror.
  4. Pick an output format (Keep original, PNG, JPEG, or WebP), adjust the quality slider for JPEG or WebP, and choose a transparent or solid background for the corners revealed by free-angle rotation.
  5. Click Rotate and export to render the result, then click Download rotated to save it. Your image is not uploaded.

About this tool

Image Rotator rotates and flips a JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, or GIF in your browser. Drop an image, pick a rotation, optionally flip horizontally or vertically, and export the result with one click. Quick rotation buttons cover the three lossless 90 degree steps (90 right, 180, and 90 left) used to turn a sideways phone photo upright, fix a scanned document that came in rotated, or swap a landscape screenshot to portrait. A free angle slider and number input cover any value from -360 to 360 in 0.1 degree increments for straightening a tilted horizon, rotating artwork off-axis on purpose, or matching the angle of another element in a design. Positive values rotate clockwise; the live preview updates as you drag, and a Snap to nearest 90 button rounds any free angle back to a lossless 90 degree step. Flip horizontal mirrors the image left-to-right (useful for selfies, design mockups that need a mirrored variant, or reversing arrows and chevrons); flip vertical turns it upside down. Rotation, flips, and the export all run on a local canvas, so the file is never uploaded and the source bytes stay on your device, which makes the tool safe for personal photos, identity documents, watermarked client work, unreleased designs, internal screenshots, and medical or legal scans. Output format is your choice: Keep original (PNG stays PNG, JPG stays JPG, WebP stays WebP), or convert to PNG, JPEG, or WebP on the way out, with a quality slider for JPEG and WebP and a background color or transparent fill option for the corners that get revealed when rotating at a non-multiple of 90 degrees. JPEG has no alpha channel and always uses the chosen background color (white by default). When you rotate by 90 or 270 the output dimensions automatically swap width and height so a 1920 x 1080 photo becomes a 1080 x 1920 portrait; free-angle rotations grow the bounding box to fit the rotated rectangle without clipping. Very large rotated bounding boxes are capped at 8192 px per side so a phone-resolution photo with a wild rotation still encodes safely. Useful for fixing the EXIF orientation that some cameras leave wrong, turning a side-loaded scan upright, straightening a horizon from a quick handheld shot, creating mirrored variants of a logo or character pose, rotating product photography 90 degrees for a vertical marketplace listing, or just answering the question how do I rotate a JPG and save it without installing software.
