About this tool

Fiscal Quarter Calculator tells you which fiscal quarter a date falls in for any fiscal year start month, then lays out the full Q1 to Q4 calendar for that fiscal year so you can plan around it. Pick a reference date (today by default) and a fiscal year start month, or load a region preset for the calendar year, US federal (October start), United Kingdom (April), India (April), Japan (April), Australia (July), New Zealand (July), Canada federal (April), or US retail (February, NRF 4-5-4 anchor month). The hero card names the current fiscal quarter and fiscal year using your chosen labeling convention (starting calendar year, as Japan and most US retailers prefer, or ending calendar year, as the UK, US federal government, and Australia prefer). Underneath you get the exact start and end dates for each quarter of the fiscal year, the number of days in each quarter, and a highlight on the quarter that contains your reference date. Progress metrics show days elapsed in the current quarter, days remaining, total days in the quarter, and a percent-complete bar, all inclusive on both ends so the count matches the way accounting and project teams talk about a quarter. A details panel rounds out the report with the weekday of the quarter's start and end, the corresponding standard calendar quarter for cross-reference, the total days in the fiscal year, and the day-of-fiscal-year index for the reference date. A copy button captures the full breakdown for one-paste use in a status update, board report, or cell of a spreadsheet. Reference date, start month, and labeling preference are processed entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
