Calculator Tools
CTR Calculator
Calculate click-through rate from impressions and clicks, solve for required clicks or impressions, compare ad sets, and check CTR benchmarks.
Calculator mode
Pick which of CTR, clicks, or impressions you want to solve for, then enter the other two. Answers the three classic CTR planning questions in one workflow.
What to solve for
You know impressions and clicks and want the click-through rate.
The math
CTR
(clicks / impressions) x 100
CPC
spend / clicks
CPM
(spend / impressions) x 1000
How to use
- Pick a mode: CTR (solve for CTR, clicks, or impressions), CTR plus CPC plus CPM (single row with spend), Compare rows (up to 8 ad sets side by side), or Benchmarks (typical CTR ranges across major surfaces).
- In CTR mode, choose what to solve for and enter the two known values. Quick-pick chips drop in common CTR percentages and impression volumes in one click.
- In CTR plus CPC plus CPM mode, enter impressions and clicks together with total spend to see CTR, CPC, CPM, and cost per single impression in one pass.
- In Compare rows, fill labels and impression / click pairs for the ad sets, channels, or campaigns you want to compare. Toggle Include spend to surface CPC and CPM per row plus a blended CPC and CPM in the totals row.
- In Benchmarks, type your own CTR into the comparison field and the table flags Above, Within, or Below the typical range for every listed surface.
- Pick a currency from the selector at the top for display formatting. No exchange rates are fetched.
- Click Copy summary to grab a plain-text report of the inputs and results for a campaign brief, Slack thread, or ticket.
About this tool
CTR Calculator turns the headline performance metric of paid and organic search, social ads, display, video, email, and on-site banners into a complete planning workspace. Click-through rate is clicks divided by impressions, expressed as a percent: the share of people who saw the surface and clicked through. The CTR mode picks one of three classic questions to solve. Enter impressions and clicks to see the CTR with three decimal places, the underlying ratio, and a plain-English 1 in N read so you can sanity check whether the number passes the smell test for the surface you are buying or ranking on. Enter a target CTR and impressions to project clicks; enter a target CTR and clicks to project the impressions you need to buy or earn. The CTR plus CPC plus CPM mode adds optional spend to the same impression and click pair and reports CTR, CPC, CPM, and cost per single impression together, which is the full performance row a media buyer wants for a single ad set. The Compare rows mode takes up to eight ad sets, channels, or campaigns side by side, computes CTR for every row, highlights the highest CTR row as Best and the lowest as Worst, and rolls everything up to a blended CTR plus totals for impressions, clicks, and (when supplied) spend, CPC, and CPM. The Benchmarks mode lists widely-cited industry CTR ranges for Google Search ads, Google Display Network, YouTube in-stream, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, LinkedIn Sponsored Content, X promoted posts, Amazon Sponsored Products, B2C email marketing, and organic SERP positions one through ten. Type your CTR into the comparison box and every row shows whether you sit Above, Within, or Below the typical range, with a short caption explaining why the bracket is what it is. The captions are explicit that these are widely cited industry estimates, not platform guarantees: real CTR shifts with creative, audience, query intent, ad rank, placement, and seasonality. Currency selection uses Intl.NumberFormat with eight common currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, INR, TRY) and no exchange rates are fetched. Every input is validated; impossible scenarios (clicks greater than impressions, CTR above 100, negative spend) produce inline guidance instead of misleading numbers. All math runs in your browser. The campaign data, ad-set names, and spend figures you type stay on your device. Useful for performance marketers building media plans, SEO professionals projecting organic clicks from search volume and target rank, content marketers measuring email link performance, YouTubers comparing thumbnail tests, retail teams reading Amazon Sponsored Products reports, and growth teams stitching together a blended CTR across paid and organic surfaces.
