.ics file (Apple Calendar, Outlook desktop, Thunderbird)

Picking the right time zone option
- My local time: easiest when you and the audience share a region. The link will translate using your browser's detected zone.
- Specific time zone: best for webinars, virtual events, and cross-region meetings. The event lands at the right local hour for every recipient.
- UTC: handy when you already have a UTC instant and want a zone-neutral source of truth.
How to use
- Add an event title, an optional description, a location (address, room, or meeting URL), and an event URL if you have one.
- Toggle Timed event or All day depending on whether the event has specific start and end times or covers full calendar days.
- Pick start and end dates and times. The defaults are tomorrow morning so you can preview the links immediately.
- Choose a time zone mode. Use Specific time zone for webinars and cross-region events so the link translates correctly for every recipient.
- Click Open next to any provider to preview the link in a new tab, or Copy link to paste it into a newsletter, landing page, or button.
- For Apple Calendar, Outlook desktop, or Thunderbird users, click Download .ics or Copy .ics to share the file body that those clients understand.
About this tool
Add to Calendar Link Generator builds ready-to-use links that drop your audience directly into a pre-filled new event dialog in their calendar of choice. Newsletter operators, event marketers, conference organizers, webinar hosts, and product teams use these links to lift event-page conversion: instead of asking a recipient to copy a date and a Zoom URL into their own calendar, you give them a one-click button that opens Google Calendar, Outlook, Microsoft 365, or Yahoo Calendar with the title, description, location, and event URL already populated. Each provider exposes its own URL scheme, and this tool handles all four correctly. Google Calendar uses calendar.google.com/calendar/render with action=TEMPLATE, basic-format UTC instants for timed events (with ctz when a specific IANA time zone is selected), and inclusive YYYYMMDD/YYYYMMDD ranges for all-day events. Outlook.com (live) and Office 365 use the deeplink/compose endpoints with ISO 8601 startdt and enddt, allday=true for date-only events, and a separate path for personal versus work calendars. Yahoo Calendar uses the v=60 query with basic-format start and end. For audiences on Apple Calendar, Outlook desktop, Thunderbird, or any RFC 5545 iCal client, the tool also emits a complete VCALENDAR with proper line folding, escaping, and the exclusive DTEND convention for all-day events, downloadable as a .ics file or copyable as text. Three time-zone modes match real-world workflows: My local time interprets your input as the browser's detected zone, Specific time zone anchors the event to an IANA zone (so 9:00 AM Europe/London arrives at the right local hour for every recipient), and UTC reads your input as a zone-neutral instant. All URL building runs locally; the event details you type are never uploaded.
