Volume Converter turns any volume value into every common unit at the same time, so you can read metric, US customary, and UK imperial results side by side instead of guessing whether a recipe means a US cup or a metric cup, or whether a fuel quote uses US gallons or imperial gallons. Type a number, pick a source unit (milliliter, centiliter, deciliter, liter, metric cup, cubic meter, US teaspoon, US tablespoon, US fluid ounce, US cup, US pint, US quart, US gallon, UK fluid ounce, UK pint, UK quart, or UK gallon), and the result cards update instantly with the converted value, the liter equivalent, and a copy button on every result. Conversions go through a single canonical liters value internally, with unit factors locked to exact international definitions: 1 US gallon is 3.785411784 L exactly (231 cubic inches), 1 imperial gallon is 4.54609 L exactly, 1 US fluid ounce is 1/128 of a US gallon (29.5735295625 mL exactly), 1 UK fluid ounce is 1/160 of an imperial gallon (28.4130625 mL exactly), 1 US cup is 8 US fluid ounces (236.5882365 mL exactly), 1 metric cup is 250 mL exactly (Australia and most modern recipe books), 1 US tablespoon is 3 teaspoons or 1/2 fluid ounce (14.78676478125 mL exactly), and 1 cubic meter is 1000 L. Inputs accept comma decimal separators, thousand separators, scientific notation, and an optional unit suffix (ml, L, tsp, tbsp, fl oz, cup, cups, pint, gallon, m3, etc), so values pasted from a recipe, a product label, a fuel pump, or a science worksheet just work. Ambiguous suffixes like cups, pints, and gallons resolve to whichever system you currently have selected, so typing 5 cups while the source is set to a US cup keeps that selection instead of jumping to a metric cup. When the suffix you typed clearly does not match the selected source unit, a one-click swap switches the source so you do not silently get the wrong reading. The tool surfaces a human readable summary that picks the largest unit where the value is at least 1 in each system, plus a dedicated cooking breakdown that reads volumes the way recipes are written (1 cup + 2 tbsp + 1 tsp), rounded to the nearest quarter teaspoon so half-cup-and-a-bit values stay clean. The decimal places control rounds results to 0, 2, 4, or 6 places depending on whether you want a clean headline number or a precise lab-grade reading.
