How to use

Weight Converter turns any weight value into every common unit at the same time, so you can read metric and imperial results side by side instead of opening a calculator and a search tab. Type a number, pick a source unit (microgram, milligram, gram, kilogram, metric ton, ounce, pound, stone, US ton, carat, troy ounce, or long ton), and the result cards update instantly with the converted value, the kilogram equivalent, and a copy button on every result. Conversions go through a single canonical kilograms value internally, with unit factors locked to the international yard and pound agreement (1 lb = 0.45359237 kg exactly, 1 oz = 28.349523125 mg exactly), the SI definition of the kilogram, the metric carat (200 mg exactly), and the troy ounce (31.1034768 g exactly), so results stay consistent and round-trip correctly: 1 kg is about 2.20462 lb, 1 oz is 28.349523125 g, 1 stone is 14 lb exactly, a US (short) ton is 2000 lb, a UK (long) ton is 2240 lb, and a metric tonne is 1000 kg. Inputs accept comma decimal separators, thousand separators, scientific notation, and an optional unit suffix (kg, lb, g, oz, st, etc), so values pasted from a recipe, a parcel label, a fitness app, or a precious-metals quote just work. When the suffix you typed does not match the selected source unit, a one-click swap switches the source so you do not silently get the wrong reading. The tool surfaces a human readable summary that picks the largest unit where the value is at least 1 in each system, plus a dedicated stones-and-pounds row in the format 11 st 4 lb for body-weight conversions used in the UK and Ireland, and a pounds-and-ounces row in the format 7 lb 8 oz for newborn weights, deli items, and small parcels. The decimal places control rounds results to 0, 2, 4, or 6 places depending on whether you want a clean headline number or a precise lab-grade reading.
