HSV and HSB are the same model. Photoshop, Affinity, GIMP, and most OS color pickers call the third channel Brightness (HSB); graphics math and CSS-adjacent tools call it Value (HSV). Both rows above hold identical numbers so you can copy whichever your software expects.

How to use

  1. Leave the mode on Auto detect, or pick HSV / HSB, HEX, RGB, or HSL to force how your input is read.
  2. Type or paste a color, for example hsb(217, 76%, 96%), 217 76 96, #3b82f6, or rgb(59, 130, 246). The detected format is shown below the field.
  3. Read the All formats panel to get the HSV, HSB, HEX, RGB, and HSL values, and copy any one with a single click.
  4. Drag the hue, saturation, and value sliders to fine-tune the color by eye while the live preview swatch updates.
  5. Pick a sample swatch to start from a common color, or use Reset to return to the default. Everything runs in your browser.

About this tool

HSV / HSB Color Converter translates between the HSV color model and the formats you actually paste it into: HEX, RGB, and HSL. HSV and HSB are two names for the same model, hue, saturation, and value (also called brightness), and they are not the same as HSL or HWB, so a converter built around them fills a real gap. Photoshop, Affinity, GIMP, Krita, and most operating-system color pickers label the third channel Brightness and call the model HSB; graphics math and many web tools call the model HSV and label the channel Value. The numbers are identical, so this tool shows both an hsv() and an hsb() row and you copy whichever your software expects. Paste a color in any direction and the tool figures out the format: type HSB values straight from a Photoshop swatch to get the matching HEX and RGB, or paste a brand HEX or an rgb() string to read the HSB you should type into your picker. Hue wraps to the 0 to 360 range, saturation and value clamp to 0 to 100, and short, six-digit, and eight-digit HEX are all accepted (alpha is ignored). Three sliders let you nudge hue, saturation, and brightness with a live swatch so you can dial in a tint by eye, and every output format has a one-click copy button. The conversions are the standard exact HSV and RGB formulas, so a color round-trips from HSB to RGB and back without drift, accurate to the limit of eight-bit channels. Everything runs in your browser, which means unreleased brand colors, client palettes, and work-in-progress designs never leave your device. It pairs naturally with the color format converter for HWB and CMYK output, the CMYK color converter for print, and the OKLCH color converter for wide-gamut work.
