About this tool

Height Converter turns a person's height between centimeters and feet and inches, the two formats almost everyone runs into when comparing heights across countries, filling in forms, or reading specs. It is built specifically for human height rather than generic lengths: both sides are editable, so you can type a value in centimeters and watch the feet and inches fields update, or type feet and inches and watch the centimeters update. Edit whichever side matches what you already know. All math runs through inches as the canonical unit, where 1 inch is defined as exactly 2.54 cm and 1 foot is exactly 12 inches, so the conversions are exact within normal floating point precision for any realistic height. The result panel shows several views at once: feet and inches rounded to the nearest inch, the exact feet and inches with the leftover fraction kept to two decimals, prime notation like 5 feet 11 inches written with an apostrophe and double quote, the height in plain centimeters and meters, and the total height expressed purely in inches or in decimal feet. Each result has its own copy button. Quick preset buttons cover the most searched heights such as 170 cm, 180 cm, 5 ft 6 in, and 6 ft, and a full conversion chart lists common heights from 140 cm to 200 cm with a tap-to-load action on every row. Inputs accept either a period or a comma as the decimal separator and handle a blank inches or feet box gracefully, treating it as zero so stating a whole number of feet just works. Note that rounding to the nearest inch is for readability, and the exact row is provided when you need the precise remainder, for example 180 cm is about 70.87 inches, which displays as 5 ft 11 in but is exactly 5 ft 10.87 in. Everything is computed locally in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, never stored on a server, and disappears when you close the tab.
