How to use

  1. Pick a grid style: Square, Dot grid, Isometric, Triangular, Hexagonal, or Polar. The preview redraws live as you change controls.
  2. Choose a paper size (A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal, or Custom) and orientation, then set the spacing, line weight, line color, background, and printable margin.
  3. Use a preset to start from a finished configuration (Engineering, Quad ruled, Bullet journal, Isometric, Hex map, or Polar), then fine-tune from there.
  4. Click Download SVG for a vector file that scales and prints cleanly at any size, or Download PNG for a 300 DPI raster of the same page.
  5. Click Print to open a print-sized window with the page already laid out at the paper size, then use your browser's print dialog (set scaling to 100 percent for true-size output).

About this tool

Graph Paper Generator builds real, print-ready graph paper as a single SVG document sized in millimetres, so prints come out at true scale no matter which paper size you choose. Six grid styles are supported: classic Square grid with optional major every-N-cells lines (engineering or quad-ruled paper); Dot grid with adjustable dot radius (bullet journal style); Isometric grid with vertical lines plus two diagonal sets at 30 degrees from horizontal (drafting, axonometric drawings, voxel art); Triangular grid built from equilateral triangles tiled edge-to-edge (knitting charts, crystal nets, schematics); Hexagonal grid of flat-top hexes that tile cleanly (RPG and tabletop hex maps, organic chemistry); and Polar grid with concentric rings plus radial spokes (angle protractor work, radar plots, pie chart layouts). Pick a paper size from A3, A4, A5, US Letter, US Legal, or a custom width and height in millimetres or inches, switch between portrait and landscape, and fine-tune the spacing, line weight, line colour, background, and printable margin. Six one-click presets cover the most-searched configurations: Engineering (5 mm grid with 25 mm majors on A4), Quad ruled (5 mm cells on Letter, no majors), Bullet journal (5 mm dot grid on A5), Isometric (5 mm isometric on A4), Hex map (10 mm hexes on A4), and Polar (5 mm rings with 24 spokes on Letter). Output options are Download SVG (vector, scales infinitely and prints crisply at any size), Download PNG at 300 DPI (rasterised through a canvas for slide decks and editors that do not handle SVG), and Print (opens a new tab with a print stylesheet that matches the page size to the paper, so the browser print dialog defaults to actual-size at no scaling). Useful for school maths homework, engineering sketching, draughting, isometric pixel art and voxel art layouts, tabletop role-playing game hex maps, dungeon mapping, cross stitch and knitting charts, calligraphy practice grids, music theory polar diagrams, and anywhere a clean printable grid beats hunting for a PDF that is the wrong size. Everything is generated locally in your browser: the SVG is built from a few hundred lines of geometry code, the PNG is rasterised through a local canvas, and the print preview opens in a window on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded.
