About this tool

Code to Image Converter turns a plain code snippet into a polished, shareable PNG, entirely in your browser. Pasting code into a tweet, a slide, a blog post, or a chat usually flattens the formatting and strips the colors, so this tool renders your snippet onto a canvas with proper syntax highlighting and exports it as a clean image instead. A small, dependency-free tokenizer recognizes comments, strings, numbers, keywords, function names, and punctuation for JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, JSON, HTML, CSS, SQL, shell scripts, Go, Rust, and Java, and a plain-text mode renders code without coloring when you prefer a neutral look or are using an unsupported language. Multi-line constructs are handled correctly, so block comments and template literals that span several lines stay one continuous color. You can choose from several color themes, including dark options like Midnight, Dracula style, Carbon black, and Nord style, plus light options like GitHub light and Solarized light. Wrap the card in a gradient or solid background, or export it transparent for placing on your own design, and toggle a window bar with the classic three dots and an optional file name to give the image a familiar editor look. Line numbers, font family, font size, and tab width are all adjustable, and the live preview updates instantly so you can see the exact result before you export. The download is rendered at twice the display size so text stays crisp on high-resolution screens, and where the browser supports it you can copy the image straight to the clipboard and paste it into another app. Everything happens locally with canvas drawing and text tokenizing, so your code is never uploaded, and the tool is free with no signup.
