How the ideas are built
Every name starts from the keywords you type. The generator mixes eight naming patterns (prefixes like Get and Go, company words like Labs and Studio, brandable endings like -ify and -ly, two-word compounds, word blends, dropped-vowel domain styles, alliteration, and abstract pairings) and weights them to match the style you pick. Draws use crypto.getRandomValues, so each batch is fresh and unbiased.
Before you register a name
A good business name is available as a domain, free of trademark conflicts, and easy to say out loud. This tool sparks ideas and estimates domain odds, but it does not register domains or check trademarks. Shortlist your favorites, then verify each one with a domain registrar and a trademark database in your country.
How to use
- Type one or two keywords that describe your business, product, or brand. Two keywords unlock compound and blended names.
- Pick a style: Balanced, Modern startup, Professional, Playful, or Short and punchy, and set how many ideas to generate.
- Press Generate names. Read the pattern label and the optional .com hint under each idea to judge fit and likely availability.
- Star the names you like to add them to your shortlist, which stays put as you generate more batches.
- Copy a single name, the whole batch, or just your shortlist, then verify your top picks with a domain registrar and a trademark search.
About this tool
Business Name Generator turns one or two keywords into a batch of brandable name ideas for a business, startup, product, app, store, blog, or side project, and it does it entirely in your browser. The hard part of naming is not coming up with a single idea; it is generating enough quality options, in a consistent style, that you can shortlist the few worth checking for a domain and a trademark. This tool does exactly that. You type a keyword or two that describe what you do, pick a style, and it produces a grid of candidate names you can star, copy, and refine. Every name is built from the words you enter rather than drawn at random, so the results stay relevant to your idea. Behind the scenes the generator mixes eight naming patterns that founders and naming agencies actually use. Prefix names attach a short action word to your keyword, like Get, Go, Try, My, or Neo, which is the pattern behind many app and SaaS brands. Company-word names append a descriptor such as Labs, Hub, Studio, Works, Collective, or Group, which reads instantly as a real company. Brandable-ending names add a modern suffix like -ify, -ly, -io, or -ster directly onto your keyword to invent a coinable word. Compound names join your two keywords into one, and word blends overlap them into a portmanteau where a clean seam exists, the way brunch fuses breakfast and lunch. Dropped-vowel names trim a trailing vowel for a short, ownable domain in the style of Flickr or Tumblr. Alliterative names pair your keyword with a matching-initial descriptor for a memorable, easy-to-say result, and abstract pairings combine your keyword with a curated modern brand word like nova, atlas, orbit, or harbor. Five styles reweight those patterns for the tone you want: Balanced for a wide mix, Modern startup for invented app-style names, Professional for descriptor-plus-company-word names, Playful for alliteration and friendly compounds, and Short and punchy for the most domain-friendly forms. Each result carries a best-effort .com likelihood hint based on the name's length, word count, and how invented it looks, so you can prioritize the candidates most likely to be registrable. That hint is a transparent estimate, not a live domain lookup or a guarantee; a true availability check would require sending the name to a registrar, and this tool keeps everything on your device. When a name clicks, star it to build a shortlist that persists across as many fresh batches as you like, then copy the whole list in one click to drop into a notes doc or share with a cofounder. The generator is useful for entrepreneurs naming a new venture, indie hackers naming a product, agencies brainstorming options for a client, creators naming a channel or blog, and anyone who needs to move from a blank page to a real shortlist quickly. All generation runs locally with crypto-grade randomness, so the keywords and names you explore here are never uploaded.
