YouTube Timestamp Link Generator

Generate YouTube share links and embed code that start at a specific time. Watch URL, youtu.be share link, embed iframe with start and end, and markdown link.

Detected video ID: dQw4w9WgXcQ. Common formats supported: youtube.com/watch, youtu.be, /shorts/, /embed/, /live/, m.youtube.com, music.youtube.com, and youtube-nocookie.com.

Start time

Hours, minutes, and seconds. Watch URL uses Xs format, embed uses seconds.

0s ( 0 s)

End time

Optional. The embed stops at this time. Watch and share links do not support end times; they only honor the start.

Embed player options

These flags only affect the iframe embed and embed source URL. The plain watch and share links are not changed.

Watch link

Standard youtube.com/watch URL with start time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

Opens at 0:00 (0s)

Short share link

Compact youtu.be share link, the same format the YouTube share button outputs.

https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ

Opens at 0:00 (0s)

Embed source URL

Privacy enhanced youtube-nocookie embed source for an iframe.

https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/dQw4w9WgXcQ?rel=0

Starts at 0:00

Iframe embed code

Drop this directly into an HTML page, blog post, or CMS rich text block.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/dQw4w9WgXcQ?rel=0" title="YouTube video player dQw4w9WgXcQ" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Markdown link

For READMEs, GitHub issues, Notion, or anywhere that renders markdown.

[Watch on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ)

Preview

The preview loads the actual embed in your browser, which means YouTube receives a request from your device. Click below to opt in. Use the privacy enhanced toggle to keep cookies off until you interact.

How to use

  1. Paste any YouTube URL into the field at the top, or type the 11 character video ID directly. The detected ID is shown below the input.
  2. Set Start time using the hours, minutes, and seconds fields. If your link already has a t= or start= value, click Read timestamp from URL to load it.
  3. Optionally toggle End time on for the embed to stop at a specific moment. The plain watch and share links honor only the start; YouTube does not support end times in those formats.
  4. Tune the embed flags: autoplay (with mute, which most browsers require), loop, hide controls, modest branding, privacy enhanced (youtube-nocookie), and whether YouTube can show related videos at the end.
  5. Copy the watch link, the short share link, the embed source URL, the iframe HTML, or a markdown link with your own label. Click Show preview to load the embed locally in a sandboxed iframe so you can verify the start, end, and player options before sharing.

About this tool

YouTube Timestamp Link Generator turns any YouTube URL or 11 character video ID into a polished bundle of share links that start at the exact moment you choose. Paste a watch URL (youtube.com/watch?v=...), a short share URL (youtu.be/ID), a Shorts URL (/shorts/ID), an embed URL (/embed/ID), a live URL (/live/ID), an m.youtube.com link, a music.youtube.com link, a youtube-nocookie.com embed, or a thumbnail URL from i.ytimg.com or img.youtube.com. The 11 character video ID is detected with the same regex coverage used elsewhere on the site. Set the start time using separate hours, minutes, and seconds fields (the same way YouTube formats t=1h2m3s), and optionally set an end time so the embed stops on cue. The tool builds four ready-to-copy outputs: a standard watch link with t=Xs (the format YouTube canonicalizes), a short youtu.be share link in the same compact format the official Share button uses, a privacy enhanced or standard /embed source URL with start, end, autoplay, mute, loop, controls, modest branding, related videos, and rel parameters wired up correctly, and a complete iframe HTML block sized at the canonical 560x315 with the standard allow and referrerpolicy attributes. A separate markdown link block builds a readable [label](url) snippet for READMEs, GitHub issues, Notion, Obsidian, or any markdown surface, with closing parens in the URL safely percent escaped so the link cannot break. A Read timestamp from URL button extracts an existing t=, ?t=, &t=, or &start= value from the pasted link so an already-shared link can be tweaked without retyping the time. The privacy enhanced toggle switches the embed host to youtube-nocookie.com, which YouTube uses to delay setting tracking cookies until the viewer interacts with the player; this matches what Google recommends for embeds on consent-sensitive pages and is the on-by-default choice here. A live preview is opt in: nothing is requested from YouTube until you click Show preview, at which point the iframe loads in your browser exactly as it would on a published page. URL parsing, time math, query string assembly, and embed HTML construction all run locally on your device, so the URLs and labels you experiment with never leave your browser. Useful for support and documentation teams citing a precise moment in a tutorial, marketers embedding a product demo that opens at the highlight, course creators stitching together segments, podcast clip sharing, social media managers crafting a share with a hook, accessibility reviewers pointing to specific captioned moments, QA teams reproducing video bug reports at exact frames, and anyone who wants to send a friend the part that actually matters.
