  • Underline

  • Double underline

U+0333/Two stacked low lines under each character for a stronger emphasis.

Type some text to see this style.
  • Overline

U+0305/Horizontal line above each character. Sometimes called a bar or vinculum.

Type some text to see this style.

Every style is built with one combining diacritical mark per character. The output is plain Unicode you can paste anywhere that accepts Unicode text. A few platforms strip combining marks for search indexing or for accessibility, in which case the receiver sees the underlying text without the line; this is expected and unavoidable.

How to use

  1. Type or paste your text in the input. Every style updates as you type.
  2. Pick the line style with the tabs above the featured output, or press Feature on any card in the all-styles grid.
  3. Toggle Skip spaces to switch between a continuous line and a word-by-word strike. Use Strip existing marks if the input already has a strike or underline applied.
  4. Use the Copy buttons to grab the result and paste it into your bio, caption, chat, or document.
  5. Preview in the target app before publishing. A few platforms strip combining marks in usernames or search-indexed fields.

About this tool

Strikethrough Text Generator places a Unicode combining mark after every character of your text to draw a line over, under, or through the glyph, so the result reads as plain Unicode and can be pasted into any field that accepts text. Eight line styles are produced from the same input in one pass: long strikethrough (U+0336), short stroke (U+0335), slash through (U+0337), long slash (U+0338), tilde overlay (U+0334), single underline (U+0332), double underline (U+0333), and overline (U+0305). Each style has its own copy button, and the featured panel at the top lets you promote one style for a larger preview and use-output-as-input chaining. The Skip spaces toggle controls whether the line passes through the gaps between words or breaks at every space, so the same tool can produce both the classic word-by-word crossed-out look and a continuous underline or overline. The Strip existing marks toggle removes any combining strikethrough or underline marks already in the pasted text, which is useful when copy-pasting from another strikethrough tool so the new style does not stack on top of the old one. Iteration walks the input by Unicode code point so emoji, accented letters, and astral characters keep their shape and pick up the line correctly. Strikethrough renders well on Instagram captions and bios, X (Twitter), Facebook, Reddit, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn posts, and most chat apps; some username fields and SEO-indexed fields strip combining marks during normalization, so it is worth previewing in the target app before publishing. Everything runs in your browser; nothing about your input or the generated text leaves the page.
